Product description
How to use the ADSON tissue forceps?
Unlike the dressing forceps surgical forceps are sharp-pointed and are used to grasp fibrous tissue. The jaws of the forceps have interlocking sharp teeth (1 x 2 teeth) which are used to hold pieces of tissue very well and to exert a stronger pull on the tissue. This means that the forceps do not need to be squeezed hard and the tissue is not crushed.
Tissue forceps are used, for example, to grasp woand edges during surgical suturing. It should not be used on fragile tissues such as nerves or blood vessels as they may be damaged. It it best to use dressing forceps to do this.
