Surgical clamps and forceps are commonly used in surgery to grasp and hold tissue or blood vessels for primary haemostasis and to secure surgical drapes.
There are two types of medical clamps: anatomical and surgical. Surgical clamps are serrated to ensure a secure grip on the tissue, but this can also cause tissue trauma due to the sharp teeth. Anatomical clamps, on the other hand, hold the tissue in a gentle manner to avoid trauma.
